GOT
Training
GOT stands for Get Out There. GOT is an annual training for
youth and adults in Louisiana. This training teaches
environmental prevention strategies to reduce underage
drinking and other drug use in Louisiana.
The training is 5 days/4 nights. Youth must attend as part
of a team from a community with an adult team leader.

Baptist Center, Eunice, LA
Housing: Participants will stay in retreat center rooms.
Meals: All meals will be provided by the Conference
facility.
All participants will receive a free t-shirt.
What Can
I Expect at GOT?
You will have the opportunity to hear speakers and trainers
from across the country as they present on strategies you
can use in your community to reduce drug use.
You will have the opportunity to meet and interact with
youth and adults from all over Louisiana.
You will discuss with your peers how you are affected by
drug abuse and other issues facing youth and how YOU can
make a difference in your life and in the lives of those
you care about.
You will develop the skills and tools that you need to stay
in control of your life through healthy decision-making,
while at the same time, mentoring and coaching your peers
in making their own healthy decisions.
You will talk with other students and find out how they get
"high" on life without alcohol and other drugs.
You will work with youth and adults from your community to
develop a prevention plan to implement in your community
after leaving GOT.
You will be respected.
You will be accepted.
You will have fun and make new friends.
You will have long, tiring days.
You will have time to relax and have fun.
You will play some crazy games and do some wild activities.
You will have an experience to last a lifetime.
